  • We start with a comprehensive initial assessment, including a conversation to understand your injury history, current symptoms, training status, and goals. From there, we perform a movement and hands-on assessment to identify key limitations and needs.

Based on what we find, we create an individualized program for you to follow outside of the clinic. Each follow-up session builds on your progress and is tailored to your specific goals and needs to keep you moving forward.

All sessions are 60 minutes and conducted one-on-one with me to ensure the highest level of care and attention.

  • You do not need to be an athlete—or have any prior lifting experience—to work with me. While I’ve treated athletes at all levels, most of my clients are active individuals who are motivated to reduce pain, improve fitness, and get stronger.

This is not a “sit on the table” or passive treatment approach. Instead, you’ll receive a comprehensive program that includes strength training tailored to your current level—whether you’re just getting started or already training at a high level.

  • Yes— I work with many of the most popular insurance plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Moda, and First Choice Health Network (Kaiser PPO Plus). We also work with auto accident claims and workers’ compensation cases.

Our goal is to make high-quality, performance-based physical therapy accessible while still providing the individualized, one-on-one care that sets us apart from traditional clinics.

If you have questions about your specific plan or coverage, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to help you understand your options before getting started.

  • Traditional PT often stops once pain decreases. We go further by:

    • Using objective strength testing (e.g., Tindeq)

    • Implementing return-to-sport protocols backed by research

    • Bridging the gap between rehab and high-level performance

This means you don’t just feel better—you perform better.

  • Beyond Barbell Training is located inside Ironside Training in Portland, Oregon—a premium strength facility equipped with everything from barbells and racks to turf and sleds.

This is an active gym environment, which means it can be loud and busy—especially during peak morning and evening hours—with music playing and people training hard. If you’re comfortable in a performance-focused setting, it’s an ideal place to rehab and train.

If you prefer a quieter, more traditional clinic environment, this setting may not be the best fit.
